First thing I noticed is the bone in price higher than boneless. Then I noticed that this is $14.99/lb when New York prime is $18.99/lb. Should I snag it?

I would buy and freeze them that’s a great price!

Hah nope, just Costco being awesome. Bought one a month ago and dry aged the whole thing.

Avacados 3.79 for 6…cheaper than pre covid. Costco is in another dimension…

I got a ribeye and a NY strip last week. :-). Took like 2 mins to slice and I can do it whatever thickness I want.
Also I vacuum seal anyway so cutting it was nothing when I do that anyway.

No typo…pretty typical pricing for a whole roast.

Its been that price for about a month. Can’t last forever so fill your freezer

You’re paying for the bone that’s why it’s cheaper

Chop it into steaks, leaving just 3-4 bones for a roast if that is your thing. Vacseal and enjoy.

I’m wondering if the boneless is old stock and bone-in is new stock? Priced in for higher wholesale cost which will eventually reflect on the new boneless stock.
Plan: stock up on boneless now.

Without being able to judge the marbling, how do you select one from the next?

Shouldn’t bone in be less than boneless?

It’s boneless roasts vs bone-in steaks. I’m not there in the store but I’m guessing the total package price of the boneless is much higher than the bone-in.

When beef spikes the loins and prime cuts tend to lag a little and sometimes they even reverse course and go down slightly.

A roast is less expensive per lb than a steak. The roast is boneless. The steaks are bone-in. I’m sure the boneless steaks are probably $19.99/lb or more

There was an email from Costco you can possibly find and print out. It said Bone-in Prime whole loins for $14.99 a pound. The stores are not posting that price in person though.
I was planning on taking the email in with me tomorrow and finding the manager to price match their advertising. Quite honestly bone in should be $2 cheaper than boneless anyway but everyone is all on the “Tomahawk” craze right now.
These are perfect for dry aging either way which I just bought locally on Marketplace to start 30 day dry aging everything whole before cutting into steaks.

You think a multi billion dollar company that runs as smooth as Costco made a typo? That’s cute 😂

Primal will always be cheaper per pound than steaks. With steaks they are charging you for the slicing labor. If you get the right manager you can even request case price when buying the cryovac primal
