The Indian market offers broad growth opportunities for wine consumption, supported by strong economic growth.

Vinitaly closes its 2025 internationalization program with two key stops in Asia. On December 8 it debuts in Thailand with the first Vinitaly Preview in Bangkok. Two days later, on December 10, the project continues in India with a new event in New Delhi dedicated to qualified buyers and trade professionals. These initiatives precede the Vinitaly India Roadshow which will open 2026 with stops in Mumbai and Panaji, from January 16 to 18.

DIRECT PRESENCE IN ASIAN MARKETS

Veronafiere president Federico Bricolo emphasizes the significance of the double event: “These two events close a year in which we strengthened direct dialogue with stakeholders and key players in the most dynamic markets for Italian wine. Direct presence in Asia is the result of a journey that sees us increasingly active in global markets.”

For general director Adolfo Rebughini, continuous presence on the ground is a strategic element: “Thailand and India are becoming increasingly receptive markets for Italian wine. Being present consistently means helping companies seize new opportunities and grow wine culture in high-potential areas. With targeted initiatives and solid institutional relationships, Vinitaly confirms itself as a strategic platform for opening new doors to Made in Italy worldwide.”

FOCUS ON THE BANGKOK STOP

The first Vinitaly Preview will take place at the Celadon at Sukhothai Hotel. The program includes a gala dinner organized together with the Italian Embassy and ITA – Italian Trade Agency. Fifty-three trade professionals will participate, including importers, buyers, large-scale retail representatives and Horeca channel operators.

VINITALY PREVIEW NEW DELHI

The Indian stop will be hosted at the Italian Ambassador’s Residence. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is expected to attend, on the eve of his mission to Mumbai. The event will bring together leading figures from India’s economic, political and cultural world, as well as industry professionals. Two focal points: the presentation of the Vinitaly India Roadshow and that of the upcoming edition of Vinitaly (April 12-15 at Veronafiere). The Indian market, supported by strong economic growth, represents a vast and still largely unexplored area for wine consumption.
