While a whole pizza is great for a crowd, sometimes a single, gooey slice is all you need. That’s when “by-the-slice” shops shine, offering more than just convenience, but also variety, meaning more than just the basics.

From massive, fold-over slices to unique toppings to artisanal specialty pies sold one slice at a time, you can enjoy a high-end meal without ordering the entire pie.

Here are some restaurants that offer standout pizza by the slice, one in each Treasure Coast city where applicable, including some that are less-obvious choices than your tried-and-true favorite.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTYEarl’s Hideaway Lounge, Sebastian

Earl Roberts opened the iconic bar in the late 1950s, and John Laman and the now-late William Ballough bought it in 1996. It has an Old Florida, open-air atmosphere, featuring a cigarette vending machine, vintage signs, a view of the Indian River Lagoon and eye-catching motorcycles parked out front. The friendly biker bar has live music, pool tables and outside tiki bars and tiki tables plus Adirondack chairs. The menu features giant, New York-style pizza slices ($3.50) with the option to add toppings for an additional cost, including pepperoni, mushrooms, meatballs, peppers, anchovies, bacon, onion, olives, extra cheese and spinach. The thin crust has just the right amount of oven char that gives it flavor, plus the perfect ratio of dough, sauce and cheese.

Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, Fellsmere

Giuseppe and Robert Giambanco originally opened Giuseppe’s in Sebastian’s Roseland Plaza in 1983. In 1989, the father-son duo opened the Fellsmere location, which is now owned by Robert’s daughter, Rafaella, and her husband Brett, who carry on the family’s legacy. They use recipes that have been passed down for generations. During lunch, the Italian restaurant offers cheese pizza by the slice with traditional toppings for an additional fee.

Pizza Mia, Vero Beach

Peter, Lydia and Mia Schaeperkoetter opened the restaurant with the slogan, “Good food is a family tradition” in 2016. Their family has been in the industry for a long time, owning bakeries in Italy for over 200 years. Along with their classic and specialty pizza, they also offer hearty classic Italian entrees and oven-roasted chicken wings. Guests order at the window and all seating is outdoors at covered picnic tables. Depending on the day and what is available, they serve the majority of their classic and specialty pizzas by the slice. The menu features pizzas including veggie, margherita, Hawaiian, meat lover, Sicilian, Philly cheesesteak deluxe, baked ziti, lasagna and buffalo chicken.

Benjamin “Benny” Fitter, a native of Brooklyn, New York, opened his first Benny’s Pizza in Jensen Beach in 2019 and quickly expanded throughout the Treasure Coast. Today, his chain has three locations in Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie and Jensen Beach. The Fort Pierce location is a casual restaurant with indoor seating surrounded by New York City-themed mural walls, and some outdoor seating. While it offers slices of specialty and customizable cheese, as well as Sicilian pizza slices all day, their availability depends on what is left at that moment. Topping options for the cheese and Sicilian slices include basil pesto, crispy chicken, lamb, various vegetables, salami and sliced Italian sausage. Specialty slices include margherita; pesto chicken; Benny’s special with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms and onions; meat lover’s; Hawaiian, Mulberry Street with Italian sausage, fire-roasted peppers, red onions, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and feta cheese; vegetable; di pollo with chicken, roasted garlic, roasted peppers, mozzarella and parmesan cheese; barbecue chicken; buffalo chicken; white sauce pizza with spinach and tomatoes; chicken bacon ranch; Philly cheese steak and chicken parmesan.

The Lakewood Park restaurant, in the Indrio Crossing Shopping Center, has been family-owned and operated since 1991. It serves New York-style pizza and classic Italian dishes in a casual indoor atmosphere. The menu features regular and Sicilian slices with the option to add traditional toppings for an additional cost.

Founded in 1996 on Seaway Drive in Fort Pierce, the local, family-owned pizzeria chain has expanded to include a second Fort Pierce location, three in Port St. Lucie and others in Sebastian, Vero Beach, Jensen Beach and Jupiter. The owner’s pizza roots go back to Bay Pizza in 1960 and Go Go Pizza in 1964. Goodfella’s Pizza is known for its handcrafted pizzas, stuffed rolls, gourmet subs and fresh, made-to-order meals. The menu features pizza slices, including cheese, pepperoni, meat, everything, Hawaiian and stuffed. It also offers a house-made specialty slice showcase stocked with gourmet pies that have included pizzas of the day such as a cheeseburger pie, hot honey pepperoni with vodka sauce, chicken Caesar and chicken enchilada, as well as various specialty pies such as chicken bacon ranch, lasagna, white pie, buffalo chicken salad, chicken a la vodka, broccoli chicken, chicken penne vodka and baked ziti. The family-owned pizzeria and Italian restaurant offers a casual atmosphere with table and bar seating. Along with pizza, it also serves wings, subs, pasta and dessert. It offers slices of cheese pizza and rotating daily specialty slices, which have included BLT, varieties of mac and cheese, pickle pizza, Italian combo, spinach and artichoke dip, five cheese, Big Mac, St. Patrick’s Day Reuben pizza, breakfast pizza and chicken cordon bleu. It is suggested to call ahead for daily specials.

Pete’s Supreme Pizza, Port Salerno

After 28 years of working in Martin County’s restaurant industry, Peter Gillich opened the pizza shop in 2022 with his son, Colby. They want to provide the highest-quality quick-service dining experience. The dough and sauces are made in-house daily. Along with pizza, it also serves salads, subs, wings and dinners. It is known for its giant pizza slices, served from a 24-inch pie made to be sold slice by slice. Guests can add toppings for an additional cost, such as bacon, ricotta cheese, pineapple, broccoli, meatballs, ham and sausage. It also usually offers grandma and white pizzas by the slice.

Palm City Pizza, Palm City

The pizzeria opened in 2025 with the dream of serving the perfect slice. They use recipes passed down through generations, bringing authentic Italian flavors to every dish. The pizzas are made with fresh ingredients and their signature sauce. The Lino family moved from the New York City borough of Brooklyn 45 years ago with a dream of opening a New York-style pizzeria using authentic recipes developed by the family matriarch, Filomena Lino. John and Louis Lino opened their first Big Apple location over 25 years ago in the Martin Square Mall in Stuart. It since has expanded with locations in Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie West, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Hobe Sound and North Palm Beach. It serves pizza, salads, pasta, subs, wraps and desserts. It offers slices of cheese, Sicilian, veggie, meat lovers and mama Lino’s (grandma).
