New Italian-inspired lunch item combines pizza with a panini twist

A new lunch item is putting a fresh spin on Italian food this summer.

Zizzi has launched the Pizzanini, a twist on pizza served panini-style and designed for convenient, on-the-go eating.

The Pizzanini is made by folding freshly baked pizza dough, brushing it with garlic, stuffing it with bold flavours and topping it with Riserva cheese.

Corinne Prior, marketing director at Zizzi, said: “We’re always looking for ways to bring fresh energy and innovation to our menu, and the Pizzanini is exactly that. It’s a playful twist on two much-loved Italian favourites.”

The Pizzanini is now available through Deliveroo and click-and-collect at Zizzi locations nationwide.

From June 1, it will also be offered via Uber Eats and Just Eat.

Three flavours are on the menu: tomato, pesto and burrata; prosciutto and burrata; and crispy chicken Caesar.

Each Pizzanini costs £9.95 and is available nationwide.
