After five years in Naples, Giuseppe and the Lion Ristorante has closed its doors. The Italian restaurant and bar operated in North Naples in Mission Square at 1585 Pine Ridge Road, where Noodles Italian Cafe & Sushi Bar and Nooshi Lounge used to be.
Giuseppe and the Lion released a statement about its closure on May 24, including a message from founder Joseph Sutherland: “Giuseppe and The Lion has been far more than a business to me. It has been a second home, shaped by the dedication of our staff, the loyalty of our patrons, and the warmth of the community around us. Thank you for everything. Every dinner, celebration, song, performance, and shared moment helped make Giuseppe and The Lion what it became.”
Locals shared comments on the social media statement, expressing their sadness and gratitude for memories made at the restaurant.
“Just tragic news, Joe and Tiffany Sutherland and several family members are two of the most gracious of hosts, tireless energy each and every day,” Jim Grover wrote on Facebook.
“Incredible generosity to the community of Naples, families and friends. They leave behind a fantastic legacy of caring and community. Thank you for all you do, So much fun every night at your restaurant!”
There is no news on what will be replacing the restaurant in Mission Square.
