Recent fast food news has been dominated by wild menu launches, from 48-ounce coffeebucketsto bright purple dipping sauces. But Jersey Mike’s is heading in the opposite direction with its latest limited-time item, and it’s proof that, sometimes, simplicity is best.

For the second year in a row, the sandwich chain is bringing back its chicken salad for a limited time. When it first hit menus in 2025, the reaction was so intense that it sold out within a few weeks.

At first glance, the recipe is pretty straightforward. It features chunks of roasted chicken breast in a mayo-based dressing with celery and black pepper—no extra spices, other mix-ins, or frills in sight.

What sets this chicken salad apart is how it’s made. Each batch is made fresh in-store every day, which you certainly can’t say about some other chains. Customers can order the chicken salad as a sub, wrap, or bowl, and, of course, you can get it Mike’s Way, finished with the chain’s signature oil-and-vinegar “juice.”

Fans on social media are ready for the chicken salad’s return. “I’m too excited about this,” one Instagram user wrote. On TikTok, someone said, “I know where I’m going for lunch!”

And while the sandwich is only back for a limited time, customers are begging for it to be part of the menu year-round. “Just keep it 365. It’s so goooood,” one Instagram user wrote. Another added, “Pleaseeeee be permanent.”

Whether or not Jersey Mike’s takes the hint remains to be seen. For now, though, the chicken salad is officially available at participating locations nationwide for a limited time.
