There has been no leaf damage, but it looks like some very hungry caterpillars have been eating my crop from the inside out- is there any way to prevent this or catch it sooner?

Scissors to chip em in half and a uv light to see them at night. Best way to hunt I believe

There is a wasp that lays eggs inside the hollow stems of zucchini. I only found out when I noticed my fruits were growing smaller, shrinking on the vine.

You can operate and excise the maggot but I’m just not growing those anymore.

This makes me wish that capsaicin affects insects too. The plants didn’t do enough evolving there.

I guess I’m the first to mention this, but you need to get bt spray. It’s an organic preventative spray you spray on your plants. When the caterpillars eat the sprayed foliage, they die. Spraying them once every two weeks or so will stop them from getting big enough to feast.
