A new Italian restaurant is preparing to open in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood.

Compari Trattoria is coming soon to 72 Market Street, taking over the space most recently occupied by Caspian House of Kabob. While details remain limited, the restaurant has indicated that it will offer “modern Italian dining.” The space had been home to Caspian House of Kabob for many years before the restaurant permanently closed earlier this year.

At the time of the closure, the Kentlands restaurant confirmed it had ceased operations and the property was subsequently listed as available for lease. Caspian House of Kabob was known for its Persian and Middle Eastern cuisine, serving a menu centered around traditional kabobs, rice dishes, stews, and other longtime favorites that earned it a loyal following in the community.

Compari Trattoria will bring a completely different culinary concept to the location, replacing the longtime Persian restaurant with an Italian-focused dining experience. As of now, information regarding the menu, ownership, interior renovations, and opening timeline has not yet been announced. We’ll share additional details as they become available.
