First proper coffee bar after years of researching, learning and saving up. Got this beauty on a deal at a festival over the weekend.
My previous setup was a hand grinder plus an Aeropress, which served me well for years – especially for throwing in a hiking bag for the weekend. We have a GS3 in the office at work, so I have been practicing my technique there for a while.
Two great single origin beans from Ethopia that I am trying out (the milk container packaging) from a roaster here in Johannesburg, and besides the very first shot the results have been good so far. Really excited for the journey ahead.
Next steps is to upgrade the bar a bit for the wife with
- Shelves above the bar with a plant, the aeropress and maybe a light
- Basket for gear on the empty shelf
- LED lights behind the counter
Keen to hear any setup tips or recommendations!

Congrats, hope you enjoy every minute of it 🙂
Hi there! How are you finding the grinder? Is it a 064s or 078s?
I want to get one for my Cafelat Robot / Hario Switch setup!
God that’s coffee with a view!
