The Grand Southport paid partnership

How much do you know about wine? The Grand, on Lord Street in Southport, is getting ready to host a special ‘Call My Bluff’ Spanish Wine tasting night with a twist this summer!

‘Call My Bluff’ on Thursday 4th June 2026 will see The Grand hosts and wine experts James and Tibu present some delicious Spanish wines while one tells you something true about the wine – and the other a lie.

But which is which? That will be for you to decide!

Guests will be able to enjoy five Spanish wines paired specially with five Spanish-inspired dishes created by The Grand Head Chef Lee Hibberd and his team.

The regular Wine Club nights have become a popular fixture at The Grand.

This ‘Call My Bluff’ Spanish Wine Tasting will be a less formal affair and a more interactive evening of elegant wine, fine food and big belly laughs!

Tibu and James will both tell a story about each wine.

One is true; one is completely made up.

You will sip, you will eat and you will laugh – you decide which one is bluffing!

“We thought we’d introduce a new Call My Bluff Spanish-inspired wine tasting night with delicious Spanish food served in a sharing / family style.

“We want it to be really interactive, fun and engaging for guests.

“We will start with quite an easy one, and then as the courses go on, they will get progressively harder – will you guess them all right?”
