That’s a crap policy. Most places are final seating between 30-60 minutes before close

The first restaurant I worked at took reservations up to 11:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We were cooking until 1-1:30am sometimes, out by 3am. I had culinary school starting at 7am.

And then the management will complain about labor being high.

  4. Cooked for 8 years… switched to the dark side (FOH) recently… the cooks still get out before servers when an order like this comes in

This is my biggest pet peeve of working in a kitchen.

People who work in kitchens understand.

    People who don’t, wont.

I’ll make it for you, but this one’s made with hate.

I cannot imagine stepping into a restaurant even 30 minutes before close, and if I’m cutting it 30 minutes close I’m tipping very generously, 54 seconds before close is insane.

I used to do the deliveries and close and would open the door and yell in “you guys still open?” when it got close to close. Funniest thing ever to see them all scramble out to tell me they’re closed then realize it’s just me.

God, we got this A LOT.

“It SaYss HeReE yOu aRe OpEeN TiiL 10pM”
although our google profile says, open till 10pm, kitchen till 9pm.

Now my google page etc. says we close at 9pm. Period.

Cue the server who runs into the BOH and starts apologizing profusely!

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! NO one cares Krista!

  11. Had two surf and turfs roll in like 5 close. No big deal only we only had one lobster tail left that was thawed … I’m pretty whatever as long as I know the deal but there was rough.

But yeah if it’s, they’re in before close they get food, it is what it is.

  12. Christ dude. Were there really no other closing duty’s you could get done while you put out that easy fucking ticket?

I swear some people just want to be miserable

  13. These people tend to be the most needy, unappreciated assholes that tip like shit as well as

First grill I ever worked was at an A&W and the of course, until the clock hits 11, you were open.

It would be 10:55 and a bus or two of fucking hockey players pulls up. Baseball in the summer. I fucking hate sports parents and most of their fucking kids.
