Alabama pizza lovers have no shortage of options, but only one pizzeria in the state caught the attention of the inspectors behind “50 Top Pizza USA.”

The rankings are compiled by anonymous inspectors for 50 Top Pizza, an Italy-based guide that evaluates pizzerias worldwide. Reviewers visit restaurants, pay for their meals and assess factors such as the quality of the pizza, service and overall experience.

What is the best pizza restaurant in Alabama?

Valentina’s in Madison, Alabama, made the list at No. 33 on the main national list. Here’s what 50 Top Pizza said in their review:

“The restaurant is located in a standalone building that exudes passion and expertise. The customer has the option to choose from different types of pizza, starting with the Neapolitan pizza cooked in the igloo-shaped oven typical of this style. The NY Style pizza is also delicious, the city where Joe was born and took his first steps in the world as a teenager. The Detroit Style and the by-the-slice pizzas are also available.”

50 Top Pizza also notes that Italian pizza chef Joe Carlucci is always honing his passion and skills through competitions.
