When Eiza González slipped into a cream tunic and coordinating crochet shorts she’d discovered at Zimmermann’s boutique, the look already had a destination: the brand’s sun-drenched long lunch in Antibes, France. Part of a days-long celebration of Zimmermann’s cruise 2027 collection along the French Riviera, the gathering unfolded at Villa Dorane, the storied Cap d’Antibes estate of collector Jean Pigozzi, long a magnet for the international art and fashion set.
“I saw this from a mile away,” González tells ELLE of the look, which features co-ords done in an open-knit crochet with feminine lace and black trim. “I was like ‘this is what I want to wear.’ It’s just so chic, elegant, and timeless. It’s such a feminine look, I love the details of the crochet. I’m always into a little crochet moment.”

Once at the villa, González slipped effortlessly into the Riviera set, joining fellow guests Jodie Turner-Smith, Pom Klementieff, Ego Nwodim, and Abby Champion. As afternoon stretched into evening, the fête drifted from a leisurely lunch to garden games, poolside lounging, and a DJ set—the kind of Riviera chic itinerary González dressed for accordingly.

She paired the crochet set with strappy Lumi sandals and Zimmermann’s Goldentime ruffle tote, a sculptural carryall whose rippling silhouette echoes the coral of the Mediterranean. “It just feels very fresh, very contemporary, cool woman,” González said of the look.
Below, González gave ELLE an exclusive sneak peek at her preparation for the lunch, including the finishing touches on her Zimmermann look and some required reading from Pigozzi’s book Pool Party.
