Texans who have ever knocked out their grocery shopping while hungry know how frustrating it is to remember that, once they get home, dinner still has to be prepared. However, two major upgrades are about to hit select state stores, eliminating that burden.
Walmart is bringing Dalmoros Fresh-Pasta-To-Go inside two of its locations. According to the company’s social media, the chain originated in Venice, Italy, and offers “high-quality Italian food through a fast-casual concept.” This means folks don’t need to sit down at a formal restaurant to enjoy their meals.
Details about the chain’s arrival are outlined in Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation reports filed early this summer. The document states that the eatery will open at a store at 1515 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, TX, 78232, this August. Customers will be able to find it inside Walmart, alongside a Dunkin’ Donuts, according to company director Kim Cooper, who tells MySA.
Folks based near or traveling to Methodist Hospital Stone Oak and the town of Hollywood Park will be closest to the perk. Renovations covering roughly 2,000 square feet of the property are expected to wrap up by November.
Residents in the state capital will also be able to enjoy the cuisine. A separate filing states that a market at 1030 Norwood Park Blvd., Austin, TX 78753, will undergo construction to add Dalmoros Fresh-Pasta-To-Go in the fall. The alteration timeline is the same as the San Antonio store’s.
Investors are pouring a combined $200,000 into bringing the brand to Texas. It’s come a long way since 2018, when it opened its first international location in Toronto. As of Thursday, June 10, seven locations operate in the U.S., all in Florida or Massachusetts.
“Expanding abroad meant navigating new laws, logistics, and cultural challenges,” Dalmoros said on its website. “But through passion and perseverance, the team succeeded in proving that Italian authenticity could travel anywhere without losing its soul.”
The chain describes itself as the first “in the world to combine traditional handmade pasta with the speed of modern dining.” It says each dish, ranging from fettuccini Alfredo to vodka noodles, is “made to order with fresh pasta crafted daily and artisanal sauces, delivering an authentic Italian experience in minutes.”
Menu items for the Texas storefronts may vary. Online information suggests the menu could include caprese, chicken pesto and mortadella sandwiches, as well as desserts like tiramisu and lemon sorbetto. MySA reached out to Dalmoros for comment, but did not hear back in time for publication.
