If you’re a fan of kebobs, falafels and hummus appetizers, you’re in luck. A new Mediterranean restaurant appears poised to join Cordova’s growing dining scene, with signage now installed for Levant Mediterranean Grill at 1134 N. Germantown Parkway.
It will be the latest spot serving Mediterranean flavors, adding to the neighborhood’s roster of popular spots, including Cedars Restaurant, Tannoor Grill and Queen of Sheba Imperial Restaurant.
The upcoming eatery is located in the high-traffic shopping and retail precinct Cordova Town Center, home to Gould’s Day Spa, Pacific Fusion Buffet and Grill and Cordova International Farmers’ Market. Positioned in the prime corner space of the popular plaza, adjacent to the 15-screen Cordova Malco Cinema theater, this places it within one of the area’s busiest entertainment corridors.
Officials with Levant Mediterranean Grill could not be reached for comment.

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine has done very well in the Cordova neighborhood. Local residents have been clamoring for popular Middle Eastern dishes such as leg of lamb, baba ganoush, stuffed grape leaves, beef shawarma and gyro plates and sandwiches. It’s a trend that has become very popular over the last decade in suburban areas and it appears to be accelerating rather than slowing down. Mediterranean food benefits from a reputation for being healthy and fresh as consumers increasingly associate it with vegetables, olive oil, lean proteins and grain bowls.
In fact, 2026 U.S. industry reports identify Mediterranean cuisine as one of the strongest-performing restaurant categories, with several national chains posting double-digit sales growth.
As far as the Levant name, in Mediterranean history and culture, it refers to the eastern Mediterranean region, especially the lands along the eastern coast of the sea. Today, it generally includes parts of Israel, Lebanon and Jordan.
A Levant Mediterranean Grill opened in Tupelo in November 2025 to great success, focusing on halal cuisine which includes lamb, beef and chicken, seafood, fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, eggs and dairy products. (Pork and alcohol are not allowed.) However, when contacting the Mississippi restaurant they confirmed this is not a chain.
The new restaurant is taking over the former Grille Cordova space, which specialized in open-flame grilled chicken. Construction of Levant Mediterranean Grill appears to be nearing completion, although an official opening date has not yet been announced.
