The president of Familia Torres, Miguel A. Torres, has been distinguished with the Keys to the City of Curicó (Chile) in recognition of his professional career and his contribution to the development of the municipality and the country’s wine industry, as communicated this Wednesday by Familia Torres itself.
The company has underlined that this award is of “special relevance”, as it is only the second occasion on which the city has granted its highest institutional distinction.
“With this gesture, the city highlights the profound mark that the work of Miguel A. Torres, a Catalan winemaker and businessman, has left on the territory over decades, both through Familia Torres and the Miguel Torres Chile winery,” the company stated in the note.
Torres has remarked that the honor received is not limited to personal recognition of his career, but rather constitutes “a symbol of the history” that they have jointly built with the city and the region.
The executive has promoted initiatives such as the Curicó Grape Harvest Festival, considered the oldest in Chile, and the company has highlighted the boost to job creation and new economic opportunities in the area.
