A longtime North Side tradition is returning to Endicott this weekend as St. Anthony’s Italian Feast Days takes place at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
The three day celebration honors the church’s patron saint while bringing together residents and visitors for Italian food, live music and fellowship.
“This is a Northside tradition,” Said Feast Days Chairperson Gina Kane who says the event has been a local tradition for more than 50 years and continues to draw families and friends back to the North Side each summer. “It’s great to see people come and enjoy themselves and just a good sense of community.”
The feast also serves as the church’s largest fundraiser, helping to support building repairs, renovations and parish ministries.
Preparing for the event takes hundreds of volunteers and weeks of work.
“This is set up over the span of this past week,” Kane said. “Every night, our employees, we couldn’t do it without our maintenance staff and our office staff. And then they start prepping food. They started prepping food last week.”
Festival favorites include lamb speedies, pitzafried, sausage sandwiches, chicken parmesan sandwiches, homemade baked goods and more. Live music will also be featured throughout the weekend.
The festival runs Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday begins with Mass at 10:30 a.m. followed by a procession honoring St. Anthony. Free parking and shuttle service are available from St. Mary’s Church on Jenkins Street.
