If you love Italian food, then chances are that pasta tops the list. This classic, creamy and cheesy dish can make food-lovers go weak in their knees due to its lip-smacking flavours. Don’t know about you, but Triptii Dimri agrees. Her favourite? A plate of garlicky and indulgent, homemade Aglio e Olio pasta. No, we are not making any claims; the actress revealed herself during an appearance on a food-based television programme, Your Food Lab, hosted by Sanjyot Keer, during the promotions of her latest Netflix film Maa Behen, also starring Madhuri Dixit and social media influencer Dharna Durga. Truptii Dimri’s special Aglio e Olio recipe
In the video, posted on Your Food Lab’s official Instagram handle, Triptii Dimri revealed that her secret to making tasty Aglio e Olio is to add generous portions of finely chopped garlic, which then goes into a pan of olive oil.
In another pan, Triptii Dimri adds finely chopped mushrooms and sautées them until they release their natural moisture, a step she believes enhances both the texture and flavour of the dish. Meanwhile, the garlic-infused olive oil is elevated with a sprinkle of chilli flakes, followed by onions and oregano, creating a fragrant base for the pasta. How to make Aglio e Olio pasta at home
Once the ingredients have cooked down and blended, Triptii Dimri pours some reserved pasta water to help bring the sauce together. The cooked pasta is then tossed into the mixture and coated thoroughly. To finish it off, she puts fresh basil leaves by hand and mixes them into the dish, allowing their aroma to shine through without overpowering the other flavours.Just as the recipe seemed complete, Triptii Dimri realised she had missed an essential ingredient — salt. After sprinkling some over the pasta and giving everything a final toss, the dish is ready to serve. The end result, as per the actress, is a simple yet indulgent plate of Aglio e Olio that looks packed with flavour, proving that a few quality ingredients and the right technique can transform a classic Italian recipe into a comforting homemade meal.
Triptii Dimri’s latest project
In other news, Triptii Dimri is basking in the success of Maa Behen. The black comedy thriller is a satirical take on how women often face the brunt of toxic masculinity, misogyny rooted in daily life and societal prejudices that restrict women from being true to themselves and living their lives with freedom and independence. Maa Behen, directed by Suresh Triveni, also stars Ravi Kishan, Arunoday Singh and Shardul Bharadwaj in key roles.
