We picked about 12 cups of blueberries recently, freezing most for use later, but reserving some to enjoy fresh now.

This quick and easy meal is delicious! I’ve been enjoying this as a precursor to a small lunch, but it would be great for breakfast or as a snack. I would even eat this as a dessert, so I thought I would share here for inspiration.

Non-fat greek yogurt – I used strawberry
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
A handful of toasted pecans or walnuts
Optional- A sprinkle of granola – I used gluten free graham cracker

It is recommended to eat 1/2-1 cup of blueberries per day for several health benefits, without overloading your system with too much fiber. More information available here about benefits- https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11196611/

Opinions are divided about full-fat vs. nonfat dairy, but sweetened yogurts are generally discouraged. Personally, I don’t think it’s a big deal. It’s not like putting honey on plain yogurt is somehow ulta superior. But something to think about. I would consider it more of a dessert.

As for blueberries, they are fantastic. I had some frozen Canadian wild blueberries on my Vector cereal this morning. But they are not magical. All berries are great. And the overall dietary pattern matters more than if you hit a quota of blueberries.

The study you posted was funded by the blueberry industry, after all.
