I bought a used Kamado joe classic 1 with table for $250. It worked great for months until someone accidentally knocked over the table and the base broke into 2 pieces. Everything else was left intact. Im left with a few options. I can order a replacement base for $500 or take advantage of the father's day sale and get a new classic 1 for $800.
The plot twist is that I found out 3 days ago that my wife is pregnant and im going to be a first time father. Should I save my money and just get a used weber kettle for the time being.
I only have 16 hours left before the sales end and im not sure what decision to make.
Edit: I decided to just wait for the time being. I dont wanna spend too much on a grill with a baby on the way. I hear they can be expensive. I'll just keep an eye out on Facebook for a deal or someone with a broken top or maybe I'll just post the top with the table and all the internals to someone needing parts.

Only you can answer where your finances are best put to use. Depends if a kettle will meet you needs and how much value you put on KJ warranty too.
I’d personally probably just buy a base and save the money.
I wouldn’t get a whole new one if everything else is fine. New base is my vote.

You can also check marketplace or Craigslist for a used one and pick up a complete unit for less.

Nah just get a Weber kettle for a while and keep an eye on Facebook Marketplace for either the base or a used classic. I used the Weber kettle religiously until I got a classic 1 and I would not spend $800 on a classic 1 when the kettle is 80% as good. I’m a deal hound and classic 1s go on so much better deals than $800. Pay attention to lowes, Home Depot and Ace in the fall/winter for clearance deals for ~$500 or less.
Some people say they wish they have a pellets grille instead, since they don’t have time to mess with the vent.
Buy used or buy the same model and do something unscrupulous….
New. Get new.
