Some of the closest spots to the stadium in Arlington are Okinawa Asian Cuisine, an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, and Kintaro Ramen, which specializes in ramen dishes.
Restaurants offering Swedish and Scandinavian food are few and far between in North Texas.
But good news for Swedish World Cup visitors: Frisco has been designated as a hub for Swedish fans as the country’s team is training and lodging in the city during the tournament.
Scandinavian-based furniture store IKEA offers classic Swedish cuisine such as meatballs with lingonberry sauce and salmon. There are locations in Frisco and Grand Prairie, which is minutes away from Dallas Stadium.
The Wooden Spoon in Plano is a Scandinavian shop offering gifts, candy and food, including soups, cheeses, fish and meats, coffee and teas. According to a report from CBS News, the Wooden Spoon’s owner was contacted directly by the national team to prepare traditional Swedish dishes for them during their stay.
If you can’t make it to the stadium for the game on June 25, Rollertown Beerworks and Anchor Bar in Frisco will be streaming the match and hosting watch parties.
