Casa Artusi: two days for Italian Cuisine, UNESCO Intangible Heritage

Casa Artusi organises two evenings focused on Italian culinary identity, added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2025. Scheduled for 30 June and 1 July 2026 in Forlimpopoli, the program combines lectures, performances and tastings to trace the cultural exchanges that shaped Italy’s food traditions.

Program overview

30 June — 19:00: “Cucina mix: storie diasporiche” with Grazia Menechella (University of Wisconsin–Madison) and writers Gabriella Ghermandi and Gabriella Kuruvilla. The session examines food as memory and a vehicle for intercultural dialogue. A tasting of “Spaghetti with tuna and berberè” will follow, paired with Caviro wines.
30 June — 21:00: performance “E-RiSalutami tuo fratello” at the Arena Centrale featuring Marco Ligabue and Andrea Barbi, highlighting Emilia-Romagna DOP and IGP products.
1 July — 19:00: presentation of Marino Niola’s book The Kitchen of Why (La cucina dei perché) in conversation with Elisabetta Moro, followed by an Artusian aperitif featuring Slow Food’s “Tormentone” and Terra di Brisighella.
1 July — 21:00: lecture “A UNESCO hat-trick. Italy at the table — Humanity’s Heritage” with Elisabetta Moro, discussing Italy’s three major recognitions in food culture (the Mediterranean Diet, the Art of Neapolitan Pizza-making, and Italian Cuisine in 2025) and the responsibilities tied to safeguarding and passing on this heritage.
