The countdown is on for one of the Northern Rivers’ most anticipated cultural celebrations, with the LisAmore! Italian Festival returning this Sunday and promising its biggest and most exciting event yet.

Taking place at its new home, Lismore Showgrounds, on Sunday, 5 July, the festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors for a day filled with authentic Italian food, music, culture and family entertainment.

Running from 10am to 3pm, LisAmore! has become a highlight on the region’s events calendar, celebrating the rich heritage and enduring contribution of Italian families to the Northern Rivers while welcoming people from all backgrounds to join the festivities.

Lismore Friendship Festival Inc President Gianpiero Battista said organisers were looking forward to sharing another memorable celebration with the community.

“There’s something special about seeing people from all walks of life come together to celebrate Italian culture,” Mr Battista said.

“Whether you have Italian heritage or you’re simply looking for a fantastic day out with family and friends, LisAmore welcomes everyone. We want people to come along, enjoy the food, the music and the atmosphere, and hopefully feel Italian for a day.”

Food lovers will be spoilt for choice, with more than 20 vendors serving authentic Italian cuisine ranging from traditional pasta and pizza to sweet pastries, desserts and regional delicacies. Market stalls featuring Italian-inspired products and local businesses will also line the showgrounds, giving visitors the opportunity to browse unique gifts and artisan products.

Entertainment will continue throughout the day with performances by Domenico and the Latin Mafia, acclaimed opera singer Lisa Genovese, tango dancing, the ever-popular tug-of-war competition, salami wheel raffles and family-friendly activities.

Children will have plenty to keep them entertained with face painting, craft activities, soccer games, a 360-degree photo booth and the always popular spaghetti-eating competitions, catering for junior, intermediate and senior age groups. Car enthusiasts can also admire an impressive display of luxury vehicles presented by the Ferrari and Ducati Club Brisbane.

Mr Battista said relocating the festival to the Lismore Showgrounds had created new opportunities for future growth while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that has made LisAmore! such a success.

“This festival celebrates the contribution Italian families have made to our region, but it’s also about sharing our culture through food, music and hospitality,” he said.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our volunteers, sponsors and supporters who make this event possible every year. We can’t wait to throw open the gates on Sunday and welcome everyone to experience the best of Italy right here in Lismore.”

With delicious food, live entertainment and activities for all ages, LisAmore! 2026 promises to deliver another unforgettable celebration of Italian culture while bringing the community together in true Northern Rivers style.
