Baking bread can seem like an intimidating prospect — a precise science demanding exact measurements and considerable patience. Yet one recipe content creator has revealed that you only need a few minutes and a mere two ingredients to get the job done.
So if you’re a baking novice who’s hesitant to give it a go, journalist and creator Laura’s (@cakeontherun) recipe requires neither kneading nor proving time. You can whip up a mini loaf using just two ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen. In a post from May 2024, she disclosed that this fuss-free recipe can also be prepared using a much-loved kitchen appliance.
For those short on time, Laura explained that this mini loaf can be baked in the air fryer. It can also be made entirely gluten-free.
Laura noted that to produce a gluten-free loaf, simply use gluten-free bread and a third of a teaspoon of xanthan gum.
One follower commented: “I have to try it.” While another wrote: “Thanks, so simple! Could you recommend cooking it in the microwave, in order to save fuel costs? Cheers.”
So if you’re new to bread baking and fancy attempting a quick and straightforward recipe, here’s what you’ll need to do.
Ingredients:Six tablespoons of self-raising flourFour tablespoons of yoghurtMethod
Combine flour and yoghurt in a bowl to form a dough.
Flour your hands, shape the dough into a ball, knead it and then roughly mould it into a loaf or wide sausage shape using your hands. It should not be too sticky.
Air-fry the bread in air-fry mode at 200°C for five minutes. Laura pointed out that air fryers can vary, so if the loaf is still a bit doughy, bake for a few more minutes.
If you don’t got an air fryer, oven-bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Eat straight away.
