RushTopFish Pilates
Emily Rushing and Carissa Topham Fisher collaborated to bring Pilates and somatic-based fitness classes in South Central Austin. The studio offers reformer and mat pilates with a range of intensities.
Outlaw Pizza
The pizza restaurant offers New York-inspired pizza on sourdough, as well as pastas, sandwiches, salads and shareable items such as charcuterie nachos, mozzarella sticks and a meatball flight with toasted focaccia.
Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center
The cultural center reopened in June, revealing new music rehearsal spaces, renovations to performance spaces, classrooms, galleries, a teaching kitchen, landscaping and gathering spaces, according to the center.
The Well
The Well launched its fourth location in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood. The new restaurant, co-owned by Nicole and Rich Pfromm, debuted June 15. The Well’s menu is crafted without gluten, dairy, seed oils, soy, refined sugar or GMOs with breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items.

The French rotisserie concept now has a second takeaway location, designed to offer faster pickup and shorter delivery times, according to a news release. The restaurant is owned by Sophie Nathal and her husband Eric and sells rotisserie chicken, baguette sandwiches, soups and French pastries.
Electric Avenue Tattoo and Fresh Cosmetic Studio
Artists and husband-and-wife duo Kenzie and Tony Perez launched a new tattoo hub in North Loop. Upstairs, Kenzie Perez owns and operates Fresh Cosmetic studio, offering brow tattooing, lip blushing and faux freckles. Downstairs, Tony Perez owns Electric Avenue Tattoo with a range of artists and styles.
Shine Hot Pilates + Sculpt
The Pilates studio recently expanded from Dallas to Austin with a new location downtown, according to Kris Jacobson, director of operations at Shine Hot Pilates. The studio offers heated workout classes combining cardio, Pilates and dance.
Gati Scoops
Gati, an East Austin bakery, ice cream and brunch spot, opened a second location June 27 named Gati Scoops, according to a news release. The ice cream shop, owned by Jam Sanitchat, serves coconut milk ice cream and baked goods.
Sweet Charli Girl
The gluten-free bakery is now open for business, according to founder and CEO Rachel Metts. The bakery sells cupcakes, specialty cakes, cookies, cheesecakes, peanut butter bars and more. The new brick-and-mortar location also brews local coffee served with housemade syrups.
Amy’s Ice Creams
The Austin-native brand launched a new ice cream truck on W. 12th Street and North Lamar Boulevard downtown. Amy’s announced the grand opening on social media; to celebrate, the truck gave out free ice cream for the first 50 visitors. Amy’s offers ice cream cakes and single scoops, with over 350 rotating flavors—including Mexican vanilla.
Roadrunner Relics
The antique store is now open in South Central Austin with over 30 vendors and new items daily, according to its social media.

A new Honest Mary’s location opened in the Seaholm District this summer, according to a representative from the brand. The menu is stocked with signature and customizable bowls, sipping broths and snacks. Signature bowls include the Aloha Poke, prepared with hand-line caught poke.
Fourths
The family-owned burger restaurant is now open off South Congress Avenue. Menu offerings include handcrafted burgers and chicken sandwiches to pair with beer, wine and coffee. The location includes a drive-thru in addition to a large outdoor patio, Texas Vine & Brew Garden.
Coming soon
MML Hospitality
Austin-founded MML Hospitality is bringing a new Greek restaurant to Clarksville in the former Sledd Nursery location. The concept is expected to open in 12 to 18 months, according to a representative for the company.
Hotel Trinity
The hotel is headed for downtown Austin, offering fine dining, luxury lodging and rooftop guest amenities later this year, according to a news release. Hotel Trinity is slated to include 258 guest rooms, a private rooftop social club and a new seafood restaurant called The Yacht Club.
Torch Literary Arts
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which focuses on advancing opportunities for Black women writers, is opening a physical space. The organization hosts reading and writing workshops, features a curated bookshop and publishes work from new and experienced writers in its online publication.
Neko Yubu
The Dallas-born Korean spot is headed to West Campus, according to Jenny Kim, the restaurant’s marketing director. Owners Dean Kim and Connor Park plan to serve a selection of Korean and Japanese-inspired yubu, which are fried tofu skins stuffed with rice and different add-ins.
Degree Wellness
The wellness business offers cryotherapy, an infrared sauna, cold plunges, compression massages, light facials and a variety of therapy services such as oxygen therapy and red light therapy.
What’s next—permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration
Alberta Boot Company
The Canadian boot retailer could open a new location in Austin, per a project filing. The company sells men’s and women’s handcrafted western-style boots, custom boots, boot accessories, and other apparel and accessories.
Relocations
Blush Bridal Lounge
The bridal boutique, owned by Erica Janke, relocated from its North Lamar lounge to a larger location down the road. Blush Bridal Lounge offers wedding gowns and accessories, stocking designers like Lillian West and Calla Blanche.
Ramen del Barrio
The Michelin-recognized, Japanese-Mexican fusion restaurant previously operated out of Hana World Market, which closed in December. The restaurant is known for its Japanese ramen bowls with Mexican ingredients and traditional Mexican cuisine with a Japanese twist.
In the news
Hyperreal Film Club
The film club was founded by Jenni Kaye, David McMichael and Tanner Hadfield in 2016, starting with pop-up events around Austin, according to its website. The club has been at its permanent location in East Austin since 2024, offering movies Monday-Friday, sliding scale ticket prices, popcorn and beverages.

Black Pearl Books
The bookstore closed its brick-and-mortar location and moved to an online-only sales model. The bookstore is known for selling a variety of classic titles, new releases, books on banned-book lists, and has audiobooks and e-books available.
P. Terry’s Burger Stand
The Austin-based burger stand P. Terry’s flagship location closed at the end of June. Founder Patrick Terry stated in a social media video that the closure is due to the ongoing Texas Department of Transportation I-35 expansion project.
El Naranjo
The Austin-based traditional Mexican restaurant will close its doors on South Lamar in July, according to a social media post. The menu featured a selection of seasonal, scratch-made dishes including ceviche, guacamole, tuna tostadas, enchiladas and more.
Olamaie
The Michelin-starred Southern fine dining restaurant will close in July after 12 years in downtown Austin, according to its website. Owned by founder and chef Michael Fojtasek, the restaurant earned its star in 2024 and retained it in 2025. The restaurant is fully reserved for its remaining services and is no longer taking to-go biscuit orders.
