I could feel his pain through the screen.

  2. Warned a buddy about “that” red sauce at a local Chinese restaurant. He ignored me and put several spoons on a spring roll. Lessons were learned. 😀

I love that feeling. As an allergy sufferer it’s like bam. Then I’m fixed for a bit lol

I’ve done this… except no reaction when I did. Cause I love it.

Dude exhaled and felt that dragon breath in his nose.

I love the Wasabi in a tube, that and soy makes an excellent dipping sauce for many things.

Well, everyone has to learn sometime, somehow.

And here in the West *this* is so very often the somehow *and* the sometime.

^(Hibachi joints have no idea what a public service they’re performing when this happens…)

    Been there, done that.

Some genius thought it would be a good idea to put a dollop of wasabi on top of chunks of avocado, on top of my Tuna Tartare at a very fancy (and dimly lit) restaurant once. Ruined my entire meal, and that was just the app.

Reminds me a story… Now this is a long time ago because this was about 25 years ago.

When I was a teenager, my mom and dad took our family to an all you can eat Chinese buffet.

For whatever reason the Chinese buffet had the sushi on one end of a bar and on the other end of the same bar they had an ice cream machine.

My brother, not understanding anything about sushi, (I loved and ate sushi all the time) got a bowl of vanilla ice cream and since his favorite color is green, he topped his ice cream with wasabi.

To this day was the greatest thing I’ve ever witnessed. End of story

Now why didn’t anyone warn him?

I did that the first time I had it. I could smell the color 6.

What feels like a lifetime ago, had two different dates almost exactly a year apart do the same thing. Eat the whole supply of wasabi in one go. What makes it extra special is that I’d distinctly warned them both about wasabi moments before. Should have taken it as a warning sign.

Stopped taking dates out for sushi for a long time after that.

My grandpa did that once. Mom was like “DAD NO!” right as he popped it into his mouth. He’s completely bald and had sweat dripping down his face, it was actually kinda funny.

What a legend! I would have been crying on the floor! Tears of joy though

I love how wasabi hits really hard then goes away. One time I used it like ketchup with fries and I nearly choked on each chip, wouldn’t recommend. This was the cheapo horseradish one aswell, not the real stuff.

Okay but the sinuses will be cleared like never before and that feeling is worth that weird brain buzz lol.

I routinely eat any leftover wasabi straight.

  18. rajivpsf

    Specially since that’s colored horseradish

The pistachio ice cream has gone bad!

That is my exact reaction to eating wasabi.

It lasts about five seconds, but it full on punches you in the nose before it leaves.

But I will keep eating it, IN MODERATION. It’s good, when you DON’T eat a big chunk of it.

Get the real wasabi too, it’s much stronger.

Luckily for him it doesn’t linger too long!
