This uses up the last of the Velveeta sauce and i don't plan to ever buy any more again.

1.5 cups of macaroni noodles, and a bunch of dandelions boiled in a quart of water i got from the traugh. Added 1 expired can of chicken (expired January 2025) and 2 packs of Velveeta.

The traugh is filled by a trickle of water from a wooden peg in a hole in the well pipe, the wells artesian so it constantly flows out the pipe. I do dishes by soaking them a few days then wiping them off. The dogs and cats drink out of it. Frogs hang out in it, sometimes i put bait fish in it. The boiling of the water cleans it as it cooks the noodles and dandelions (so i don't bother washing them). I pull that peg to fill water jugs when i want water I'm not going to boil before using.

At one time i had over 30 boxes of Velveeta (3 packs per box) as i stocked up years ago thinking it would work like mre cheese sauce (its not as good) and as an alternative to cheese for the many times i have no money, its uses as a cheese are, limited, at best. So now that its finally used up i don't plan to ever buy it again.

It was a good thought though. Portioned packages and shelf stability. Too bad it didn’t work out though. Have you explored any alternatives? Maybe a jug of cheese powder or something?

I’ve seen a lot of these posts but this is the first time I can remember hearing about this water situation. You must have one hell of an immune system my guy.

I hate that this photo actually looks really delicious

Wait, so you do dishes in the same water animals are hanging out in? That doesn’t seem sanitary

I feel like you’ve been using up a lot of ingredients that you don’t plan on getting again. Any idea what you’re gonna get in the future? Or are you just gonna stick with what’s available to you at your home?

Can we order this guy a crate of tuna and a jar of water purifying tablets?

Did you forage for the dandelions?  I am impressed by people who know enough local botany to supplement their diets with wild plants. Around where I live, there are some edible flowers and fruit and leaves but they’re not a huge component of my diet.

    MRE cheese sauce.

My grandfather used to give me some with an MRE cracker as a kid.

    It was SO good.

are there times when you do have money?

If that velveeta weren’t basically in the grave and the texture were from breadcrumbs instead this would be a really tasty meal

I love your posts and wish you the best! It still blows my mind that we live in the same country. With the amount of effort you put in just to survive i’m pretty confident that you would thrive if you had more opportunities available. Stay stong sir!
