It appears Chef Jean Tardif is preparing to open a ritzy new French restaurant in downtown Boerne, in the former location of the restaurateur’s now-closed The Creek Restaurant.
Le Steak by Tardif promises French-inspired steak-frites, prime steak, handcrafted sauces and curated wines in a ceremonial atmosphere. Since May, the restaurant has been quietly posting an uncaptioned series on Instagram, showcasing a renovated interior with ornate ceiling chandeliers, checkered floors and a flared bar.
“The Steak Ritual,” the new Boerne restaurant’s online bio reads. “Coming Soon.”
“So excited for this,” she said.
Perhaps Bravo-heads will soon get a look inside the new restaurant from their TV screens.
Currently, there are few additional details about what’s in store for the French-Mexican chef’s newest San Antonio-area venture, but if it’s anything like his other popular eateries in the Alamo City, there’s a good chance Le Steak will capture the mix of elegant and casual vibes his eateries are known for.
The Creek, Tardif’s celebrated fine-dining establishment in Boerne, closed suddenly in March 2026 after 20 years. At the time, the business did not disclose the reason for the closure. According to reporting by the San Antonio Express-News, Tardif took ownership of the restaurant in 2024.
During its tenure as a local mainstay, it was well-reviewed — particularly by Express-News restaurant critic Mike Sutter, who once named The Creek Boerne’s top restaurant.
