The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill has opened its newest location in Coral Springs, serving up gyros, falafel, chicken souvlaki and other dishes.
The restaurant is located at 2764 N. University Drive in The Walk, replacing the former Hellenic Republic, which moved and rebranded.
The Great Greek chain was founded in Nevada in 2011 and later began expanding outside the state with United Franchise Group, opening over 85 restaurants across the country. Other South Florida locations are in Oakland Park, Boca Raton and Wynwood.
“Coral Springs is the kind of community we want to be part of — family-oriented, welcoming and deeply connected,” said Mike Brugger, President of Franchise Real Estate, an affiliated brand of United Franchise Group.
“Many residents grew up there and continue to build their lives and raise their own families in the city, which creates a strong sense of pride and togetherness.”
The opening of the new location was in the works for over a year after Amera Corp., which owns The Walk, announced in June 2025 that the Great Greek had signed a lease for one of its storefronts.
The restaurant announced July 20 that it was open for business. Expect Greek-inspired salads, avgolemono soup, mezze plates, dips such as hummus and tzatziki, and a kids’ menu.
