Although our culture has notoriously championed youth, things are finally starting to change. Because of that, boomer actors, those born between 1946 and 1964, are still landing lead roles and not being dismissed, as they may have been in the past. In fact, even in the fashion industry there’s been an active shift to put more models in their 70s — the median age of boomers at the moment — on the runway. Why? Because representation and inclusivity matter.
While there are things about boomers that younger generations may never understand – their dating trends baffle Gen Z – ultimately, boomers bring a lot to the table. And it’s not just wisdom and the occasional dad-like joke. “Jane [Fonda] said, ‘People think it’s hard to be old, but it is so hard to be young,'” Julia Louis-Dreyfus told The New York Times in March 2024, when discussing her podcast, “Wiser Than Me,” and sharing the standout moments. “I think about when I was in my 20s … My God, that was hard,” said Louis-Dreyfus.
As someone who’s been in the industry since the early 1980s, Louis-Dreyfus is one of our favorite boomer actors who’s aging like fine wine. Of course, she’s not the only one. If the celebrities in their 60s who look stunning without makeup aren’t enough to convince you aging is a privilege, then here are some then-and-now photos of boomers who are still absolutely gorgeous.
Michelle Pfeiffer has never looked better

In 1982, Michelle Pfeiffer was only 23 and, little did she know, just one year away from her breakout role in 1983’s “Scarface.” Pfeiffer turned 68 in 2026 and not much has changed, as evidenced by her appearance at the Gotham Television Awards in June. While Michelle Pfeiffer has had a gorgeous hair transformation through the decades, she’s always stuck to blond or varying shades of it. Pfeiffer hasn’t changed her makeup shades all that much either over the years, because when something works and looks good, you never give it up.
Sharon Stone has remained a short hair icon

While some actors run away from aging, that hasn’t been the case for Sharon Stone. Having turned 68 in 2026, Stone was just 37 when she attended the Cannes Film Festival in 1995. In pics, she’s rocking almost the exact same haircut she wore to the 2026 Elle Style Awards. As someone who’s mastered the art of a subtle gray hair transition, Stone has made it clear that she doesn’t fear getting older. “I’m not interested in being young forever,” she said in 2024 (via HuffPost). “I want to be a woman who is the best I can be at my age.”
Angela Bassett’s cheekbones remain absolutely covetable

When it comes to celebrities who are even more gorgeous in real life, you better believe Angela Bassett is on the list. After all, this is a woman whose cheekbones could launch a thousand ships à la Helen of Troy. Bassett was only 35 when she attended the 53rd Annual Golden Apple Awards in 1993, looking like the movie star she’d ultimately be. In February 2026, when 67-year-old Bassett hit up the 8th Annual American Black Film Festival, she proved that over the last three decades she’s definitely avoided the lifestyle mistakes that can age you.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is proof that laughter is the secret to aging gracefully

As one of the funniest women alive — and she has 58 awards to prove it — Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ face card at 65 should be studied. In one photo, we have Louis-Dreyfus at 21 posing for an “SNL” publicity shoot in 1982, while in the other, she’s at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, looking sophisticated and cool as a cucumber. If laughing your way into your 60s is the fountain of youth, then sign us up.
Meryl Streep shows that skipping plastic surgery makes all the difference

Streep, who was 27 when she posed for a photoshoot in 1976, is also a lesson in how you can age like fine wine without plastic surgery, as we can see from the 2026 press tour for “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” where she’s 76. Streep has discussed her aversion to Botox, telling Vanity Fair in December 2009, “For an actor, it’s like wearing a veil — it’s not a good thing.”
Annette Bening still has her signature style

Not only has Annette Bening aged beautifully, but she and her husband, Warren Beatty, who married in 1992, are among the celebrities who’ve been married for over 30 years. With a few small roles in the 1980s, Bening’s career started to take off when she was around 30 and this 1990 photo shoot took place. Alfre Woodard has a smile that won’t quit

When Alfre Woodard attended the 2026 premiere of “The Boroughs,” with her wavy bob and pale pink eye shadow, she looked fantastic at the age of 73. So much so that compared to how she looked at the 1987 Emmys at age 34, the only thing that’s really changed in Woodard’s appearance is that she seems to have embraced the skinny eyebrow trend that’s not going anywhere. We’re also loving her gorgeous smile, and it’s clear she knows the right lip colors to really enhance it.
Isabella Rossellini is still the queen of the pixie

Sticking to the same hairstyle for decades is nothing short of commitment — and just another reason to love Isabella Rossellini. In 1983, Rossellini posed for photos while on location for Lancôme, a brand that would famously drop her when she turned 41. In 2026, Rossellini is still modeling and acting, most recently in FX’s “The Beauty,” for which she attended the premiere in January 2026, looking just as breathtaking at 73 as she did when she was 31.
Sigourney Weaver could still defeat the alien any day

Although Sigourney Weaver has had a long and varied career, to many, she’ll always be Ripley in 1979’s “Alien” — the film that shot her to fame at age 29. That same year, Weaver did a photo shoot in Paris, and one of the results is this flawless photo on the left. Not only is Weaver still the most beautiful woman to fight aliens, but she’s still hanging out in galaxies far, far away. In May 2026, at age 76, Weaver attended the Paris premiere of “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” in which she stars.
