Do we need to even ask whether this is Brisbane’s best all-round bakery? The eponymous Jacques’ croissants and pastries are so well realised, so perfectly baked – the toppings and fillings applied with such restraint – it’s hard to argue otherwise. Everything’s fresh, all the time. Nothing’s too sweet.
The lines are long, but not too long when you stop to consider what you’re carrying with you out the door. We’d move to Kangaroo Point just to be closer to this place.
Good to know: Pastries from CJ and then a spot in the Captain Burke Park underneath the Story Bridge is the perfect Sunday play.
