Los Angeles, California – June 27, 2024: DOLLAR TREE Store, American chain of discount variety stores that sells items for 1 dollar or less

I’m a frequent Dollar Tree shopper. I typically stop by the budget-friendly store for seasonal decorations, greeting cards, cleaning supplies, and snacks to munch on while I’m at the airport or on a road trip. (The trail mix is always in my rotation.) Once, I even challenged myself to eat all my meals from Dollar Tree for a day while staying under $10 (with success!).

It was at this time that I discovered that Dollar Tree’s frozen foods section is pretty well stocked — and with some of your favorite name brands too. With summer well underway, I thought I should put you on to some of the best frozen desserts Dollar Tree has to offer. If you’re looking for a dessert to share with friends at a party (Labor Day will be here before we know it) or simply enjoy a good deal (and ice cream), you’re gonna want to check these out.

If you want a bite of nostalgia but with a premium feel, you must give Fat Boy ice cream sandwiches a try. (The brand won the Kitchn’s ice cream sandwich taste test after all!) And let me tell ya — this is a quality product. No skimping here, the square shaped ice cream sandwich is THICK and packed with creamy vanilla ice cream between two thin chocolate sandwich cake-like cookies (a perfect ratio in my opinion). It’s the perfect size if you want an individual treat without buying an entire box.

I’ve had Snickers ice cream candy bars before, but the peanut butter flavor was new to me. So when I saw it at my local Dollar Tree, I had to snag one — and it was pretty perfect. It truly captures all the flavors of a classic Snickers candy bar in ice cream form. It has a rich, snappy milk chocolate shell, creamy ice cream, and a gooey peanut butter caramel layer that somehow still manages to be runny without hardening up. Plus, the whole peanuts add some much needed texture and crunch. Dollar Tree also carries multiple varieties of these ice cream bars, such as Twix and Butterfinger varieties. I even saw a full box of 5 of the classic Snickers ice cream bars for $4 (cheaper than the $5.99 they typically sell for at my local grocery store).

3. Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream Mini Cup, $1.25  for 4 ounces

Ben & Jerry’s reigns supreme when it comes to ice cream pints chock full of mix-ins. The Vermont-based brand was also the runner-up as most popular in the country, so it’s only natural that Dollar Tree would stock its shelves with the mini cups. Unlike the ice cream candy bars, the only flavor variety of Ben & Jerry’s stocked at my Dollar Tree was Chocolate Fudge Brownie, but I’m not complaining. The creamy chocolate ice cream is jam-packed with chewy brownie pieces (yes even in this tiny cup). It’s a delightful scoop. Grab a few for your next park hang with friends and thank me later.

If you’re not looking for a bite-sized treat, however, don’t worry. Dollar Tree is also stocked with full pints of Talenti (my personal favorite grocery store gelato brand). There were plenty of flavors to choose from, including Roman Raspberry sorbet, Caramel Cookie Crunch, and one of my all-time favorites from its Layer collection: Salted Caramel Truffle. This pint is loaded with flavor and texture: It’s got layers of rich and creamy sea salt caramel and vanilla gelato, crunch chocolate cookies, dulce de leche, plus whole chocolate-covered caramel truffles at the bottom. What more could you ask for? I like to clean and keep the containers when I’m done and repurpose them for a new life, (like storing extra cotton balls in, for example). At Dollar Tree, a pint will run you $5, cheaper than the $6.99 it retails for at my local grocery store.

Magnum mini ice cream bars variety pack featuring classic almond white flavor, held in a hand with colorful ice cream boxes in the background.5. Magnum Mini Variety Ice Cream Bars, $5 for 11.1 ounces

With this Magnum mini variety box, you don’t have to commit to just one flavor. You can enjoy the high-quality creamy vanilla ice cream covered in a thick coating of white chocolate, milk chocolate, or milk chocolate with almonds (my personal favorite). The mini bars are so cute and the perfect size for when you want to end the night on a sweet note, but they’re equally a great option if you want to grab a box for your friends and family since everybody can choose their favorite flavor. Again, these are cheaper at Dollar Tree. (I’ve seen them go for anywhere from $6 to $12 a box!)
