I am fairly new to sous vide. I’d like to convert this slow cooker/instant pot recipe to sous vide.

How would you suggest I do that?

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

  2. I’ve tried something similar with short rib, probably 36hrs at 155 or 24hrs at 175. 175 is more shredded and 155 is more whole and gelatinous.

I really wouldn’t do it. This is pretty ideal for instant pot.

People have different opinions, but usually people don’t like putting veggies in their sous videos, particularly when it’s for something as long as a chuck roast would need.

Additionally, sous vide doesn’t really make a shredded texture well. That takes a very high temp, which would defeat the whole purpose of sous vide.
