University of Georgia Auxiliary Services has announced dining, parking and transportation updates for the fall semester. These updates include a new dining commons, additional parking and improved bus routes and bus stops.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve service and better meet the needs of our students, faculty and staff,” Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Services Brett Jackson said in a press release. “Each new academic year brings opportunities to build on past experience and enhance our services.”

Hillside Dining Commons and Nutrition Kitchen

Hillside Dining Commons will open to the public on Friday, Aug. 14, in the new Dining, Learning and Well-being Center. The two-story space includes outdoor seating overlooking the redesigned Legion Field.

Hillside’s menu features locally and globally inspired dishes. Dining Services’ culinary and nutrition teams developed the menu after testing 400 recipes and gathering input from Student Government Association members and Auxiliary Services student partners.

Dining Services and the University Health Center will host cooking classes for students in the Nutrition Kitchen on the first floor of the Dining, Learning and Well-being Center, according to Auxiliary Services. The kitchen includes six cooking stations equipped with prep space, sinks and vented ranges.

Tate Student Center dining additions

New dining options at the Tate Student Center include FujiSan and Baddie’s Burger House.

Previously located in Joe Frank Harris Commons, FujiSan is now across from the movie theater in Tate. FujiSan’s menu features sushi, poke bowls, bubble tea and more.

The Bulldog Café at Tate will add Baddie’s Burger House, a local restaurant chain founded by UGA alumnus Joe Nedza, later this fall. Its menu features smash burgers, hand-cut fries and homemade pudding.

Customers can use the Transact mobile app to order ahead from FujiSan and Baddie’s. Both restaurants will accept Paw Points.

Campus restaurants catering

Retail dining locations offering catering this fall include Barberitos, Blenz Bowls, Chick-fil-A, Dunkin’, Einstein Bros. Bagels, FujiSan, Jittery Joe’s, Panda Express and Starbucks.

New parking spaces

Transportation and Parking Services added 85 parking spaces to lot N14, located on East Campus Road across from Hooper Street. The lease for lot W17, located at the corner of Broad and Hull Streets on the former Holiday Inn site, has been renewed through December.

Changes to bus routes and stops

Four bus routes, including B – Main Campus, M – Milledge, L – East Side Limited and V – Vet Med, have been adjusted as of June 4. Transportation and Parking Services developed these changes in coordination with the SGA, citing student feedback and operational data. The updated routes feature higher bus frequency, longer routes serving more destinations and increased connectivity between commuter parking lots and the main campus.

The Tate Student Center and Memorial Hall bus stops were also adjusted to improve passenger safety and rider experience, according to a press release.
