Heres my pantry now …Dean Towers

I stopped being vegan as I couldn't shift recurring shoulder ankle and mainly finger inflammation from all the rock climbing I do. Only a week in having fish once or twice a day and my body feels on the mend.

I went vegan for a couple years for environmental reasons many years ago. I was very happy to learn that sardines are an animal protein that can be responsibly and sustainably harvested. It helps me feel good about eating them now.

    Welcome back!

Don’t see any mackerel there, it’s pretty damn good in tomato sauce. You should check it out.

It’s okay to eat fish; because they don’t have any feelings

The sardine is medicine; one of the best superfoods you can eat. And I’ve heard it’s actually one of the more sustainable ocean foods environmentally speaking.

I see those Marine Stewardship Council certification seals and I approve. Always make sure your seafood is sustainably sourced! And you’re still getting quality nutrients for minimal environmental impact by going for 1) tinned 2) small low-trophic-level fish.

Did you get sick? Just curious (I’ve never been vegan) because I know that introducing “new” foods can be weird to the body at first

I was vegan for a while. It started with fish for me too, but now I eat everything, mostly because it’s easier to meal prep for strength training this way. Someday when I’m retired from lifting I’ll probably go pescatarian, but I don’t think I could go vegan or vegetarian again.

Good job! I stopped being vegan about a year ago and i still struggle to eat meat so much. But I eat sardines almost and I did blood work recently and my B12 was through the roof.

  15. Jsyk, they are high in purines which can cause kidney stones over time, if you were planning to continue eating 1 to 2 a day indefinitely

Did you acquire all that in one week?
