Do we think Vidalia onions would be a good substitute for Maui onions?
This year is the 100th anniversary of the creation of Hawaiian Electric Company’s “Home Services Department”(created 1926). They would host cooking demonstrations as a way to show off their appliances. They sent out recipes in newsletters and even had a cooking tv show in the 90’s. My mom found this in the local library.
Hawaiian Electric Company has a great archive of their old community recipes on their website. They just released a new fundraiser cookbook.
