GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro husband-and-wife team is preparing to launch Pita Press, a new Mediterranean restaurant concept at 301 Pisgah Church Road.

Kyle and Audrey Hill are behind Pita Press, which will be located in Suite B102 at the former Barberitos location near North Elm Village. The Hills have described the restaurant as their own concept, developed as they transition the location from Barberitos to Pita Press.

The restaurant is expected to feature Mediterranean bowls and salads, with the owners previously saying they plan to source ingredients from local farmers. The Hills have said they want to provide fresh food at accessible prices.

The couple, who also operate Hillbuildit Creations, recently said much of their time has been devoted to preparing the restaurant for its debut.

“We have poured our hearts, minds, time, energy, blood, sweat … and possibly the last little bit of our sanity into bringing Pita Press to life,” the Hills said in announcing the restaurant on social media.

The Hills said their faith has played an important role as they have worked through the challenges of opening the restaurant. They also thanked friends, customers and members of the community for their support.

“Through every crazy day, setback, unexpected blessing, and door that has opened, we have seen God in every single detail,” they said.

The restaurant was previously expected to open in August. As of Sunday, Aug. 16, the Hills were signaling that an opening is close but had not announced a specific opening date.

Pita Press will be located at 301 Pisgah Church Road, Suite B102, Greensboro.
