Lovers of chicken and wine are in for a treat as an iconic collaboration hits London.
The UK’s biggest fried chicken chain has joined forces with a well-known wine brand to open a brand-new bar in Shoreditch.
This August Bank Holiday, the trendy Hackney area will play host to Coq au Vin – a venue where KFC’s legendary fried chicken meets La Vieille Ferme’s famous French wine in a perfectly-formed pairing.
La Vieille Ferme is a popular, budget-friendly French wine brand produced by the renowned Famille Perrin in the Rhône Valley and Southern France.
It is often nicknamed the ‘chicken wine’ due to the rooster on its label and now, will be front and centre of a fitting collaboration in the capital this month.
Taking over Kachette Annex from 28th–31st August, Coq au Vin will be pouring La Vieille Ferme’s most-loved selection alongside finger-lickin good KFC, in a menu that’s here to challenge everything fans thought they knew about wine pairings.
Think tenders with rosé, hot wings with red and popcorn chicken with fizz – and to make the pairing even more iconic, La Vieille Ferme is bringing back its legendary ‘Chicken Wine’ label exclusively for the event.
Phoebe Syms at KFC UK & Ireland said: “We’re iconic fried chicken. They’re the iconic Chicken Wine. Coq au Vin is one of those partnerships that just makes sense – and frankly, we can’t believe it’s taken this long. This August bank holiday, it’s poulet all day!”
