I’ve been making good coffee for a few years now and have a variety of brewing methods (Aeropress/Moccamaster/Moka Pot/French Press) but have been wanting to get an espresso setup for sometime.
Very happy with the setup so far, but still learning to dial in and get the right texture in the milk. Can’t wait to keep learning!

Cool setup. I have the basic Bambino, works like a charm. Used it for quite some time before switching to Gaggia Classic. Pulled some amazing lattes. The only suggestion is to never forget to clean it, its kinda delicate. Descale properly and you will have it for a long time.
Love my niche zero!
Rock solid
Only tip: remember to clean your shower screen.
What made you decide on the Niche versus something else like the timemore 064s or even the DF64?
I have a bambino plus and like the coffee it makes and easy to use. I use pre-ground coffee but how big a difference do you find the grinder makes?
I am a relative newbie so apple if this is a simple question. I appreciate grinding makes a difference, but I have always assumed this was mostly higher end machines
Congrats. Whether this is your first step or final destination on the equipment side you’re going to have some great coffee to enjoy
You have the most convenient and easy-to-use combo there is right there. That was my initial grinder/espresso setup. It’s a brilliant starting point that makes learning so easy, and the Niche is so easy to dial beans in with. Very forgiving.
The only problem comes if/when you come to upgrade either machine because you have to make sacrifices moving away from either. In my case i had to sacrifice the instant on and ready to go Bambino Plus for a 20 minute heat up. Which took a while to get used to. But you picked probably the best beginner-friendly combo out there. I found learning to make espresso and milk drinks very easy with it.
Enjoy!
I have the same setup and it’s difficult to consider upgrading the machine. 3 second start up is insanely convenient and when you’re only pulling two to three shots back to back at most, it does what you need.
If you haven’t already, you’ll want to get a dosing cup that fits the 54mm portafilter. I have the one from Normcore that works great. I have pretty much the same setup.
Edit: a couple of screens are great to have, too, so you don’t have to clean the shower screen between shots.
