I’ve made this Spicy Carrot Snack Cake recipe several times and it’s very, very good! It comes from my husband’s great great-aunt Hazel who was born in 1887. Recipe seen here is from the Geneva, Illinois Community Cookbook from the 1970’s.

This is a lovely carrot cake recipe. The spice levels are nice and we like to add either pecans or walnuts. Raisins too!
On my list of cakes to make. Sounds wonderful!
The boiled Raisin cake sounds interesting.
Sounds delicious.
Spousebeast’s favorite cake is carrot. I’m going to give this one a try. But I’m getting a giggle from the “Spicy” in the name. The Boiled Raisin Cake has more spice.
That carrot cake sounds divine
And now i want to make the boiled raisin one
This looks really good! It says use a 9” pan, would that be a square pan or a 9” loaf pan?
Ya know, I have a cake-making occasion coming up and the person definitely likes carrot cake. I may bake this up today. Do you think it’ll suffer too much without the nuts (simply because I don’t have any and I’m being lazy)?
