I like 1 but both look nice. I’d love 1 with risotto vs the salad! 😛

  2. 2. Minus the cock comb chives. What even is that

  3. Tangibilite

#1 because the chives in #2 are way too much

  4. the-subjectDelta

1 looks better it looks greasy as fuck

  5. freisbill

1 looks the best, 2 tastes the best. both look fucking great, chef!

  6. If there’s a chance I can poke my eye with your garnish, then you’ve lost the race.

  7. Old-Marionberry1203

neither are particularly pretty, but 2 is worse

  8. _jamesbaxter

I want the first one, but I want some of that green stuff on the side because it looks good.

  9. icey561

If you told me 2 was better than 1, I would beleive you, becuase you actually ate it( presumably)

But at the end of the day 1 has a significantly better presentation and eye appeal. That’s all we have to go off of. And honestly a lot of eye appeal has to do with what we presume makes things better, so if I was betting, I’d assume 1 taste better too.

And please put whoever said “herbaceously seasoned” in the grease trap.

Put me down for a firm number one please chef.

1, but what is under the boiled peanut salad? Because if that’s oil there are significant downsides to both plates.

  13. camsean

The first one. The second seems to be resting on baby food.

  14. qriousqestioner

The second photo sounds better, but looks kinda gross because of the too much beige. I would happily eat either one. 😋

  15. “herbaciously seasoned”? That’s nasty dude.

  16. Mandoo_gg

N1 looks like a dish. N2 looks like something had been vomited on the plate.

If it resembles shit, vomit or pubes, or anything that human naturally don’t eat, avoid even asking for it.

  17. 2 looks like vomit, 1 has “boiled peanut salad”. I can’t do this.

  18. Korimthos

All I see in the second photo is cartoon hair

  19. WalkerVox

Why is this even a question? 1 is nicely plated and has some great-sounding garnishes. 2 sounds like it tastes good, but looks like a bowl of slop with unnecessary whole herb garnish.

There is absolutely no contest unless you tighten up the plating on #2.

  20. itwasajoke8484

1 for sure. 2 prob taste good. But it seems a bit messy. If you put the spinach and peas through a shinwa before you add to your risotto make it look cleaner…put your risotto center of plate. Center your duck on risotto to tighten it up a bit. Maybe get a charr on the tomatoes. Just some suggestions. And.. the chives sticking up, chop them or omit them. People are not gonna want to floss with them. The description of the plates sound delicious. Never say herbelicious again. 😘

1 by far but also not great looking

2 has ridiculous whole chives planted in the plate, but ok take them out, what’s left? A soggy mess of a risotto, doesn’t look good on a flat plate, probably turning the crispy duck skin into rubber. Risotto is also too rich in fat and umami flavor to pair with duck which is already full of fat and umami.

1 meanwhile looks like a better balance of textures and flavors between the meat and the vegetables, but it also looks like it’s sitting in a puddle of fat. Maybe put a few pieces of sourdough toast over that?

  22. Silvertree99

#2 look alike it’s still in the swamp

  23. wemustburncarthage

split it down the middle, go with the first, and dump the preserved salad for the risotto.

  24. visually 1. but 2 must be better taste wise.. could you please pass both plates for more detailed inspection…

  25. National-Fan2723

Second one looked like i just barfed into the first plate.

  26. PinchedTazerZ0

    1.

2 could work but looks a mess and the description isn’t having me love it. 1 is a little “safe” but better executed

  27. allisondbl

Plate 1 … and clearly having given the proper opinion it should show up on my doorstep right now, right?

  28. Maltedmilksteak

the color palette in 2 is giving Easter candy baby vomit

  29. Stephvick1

Both dishes look like ass, if I had presented either to my staff they would have thrown it at me. what the fuck is wrong with you???

  30. mr_panzer

Why would 2 have both a risotto and a gravy? It’s too much going on.

  31. xloyalbetrayerx

Pan leavings? wtf. Where is my essence whisper. Seriously though stop writing menu descriptions like this. You are not Atelier Crenn. 2 looks disgusting. Go with one.

  32. knobiknows

Whoever wrote that 2. description needs a herbaceous slap with a thesaurus.

  33. No_Awareness_1443

2 looks like baby shit in grass with egg yoke. I’m sorry flavor combo sounds weird to my uneducated taste buds

1 looks “better” and sound better overall flavor coherence the thing looks like a turd to the left of the protein I’d get rid of that

a top down view also would have been nice
