I've canned for years but this was by far my biggest marathon. 2,000 apples turned into cider, juice, syrup, sauce, and slices over the last 4 days!!!

Holy crap this is amazing! Great job! Where did you get the apples and what’s your recipes and how can I be successful like you?
stubbymanny
Do you cut the worms out first or just process the entire apple?

To be on the safe side, you better just…. mail all of it to me. For safe disposal. To be safe.

Wowowow and I thought processing 50 lb off my tree last year was a lot. What a beastly, delicious endeavor!!!

Wow this is incredible!! I just bought a house with 6 mature apple trees and am starting the process of making cider, apple sauce, apple baked goods, and of course plenty of canning.
I’m curious, do you save many apples for eating raw in the coming months? If so, where/how do you store them?
I’m stumped on this because I love eating raw apples, but I only have one empty mini fridge and a cellar without good airflow. I also worry about pests putting them in the cellar. I’ll definitely do some experimenting this year to see what works, but I would love some pointers 🙂

You know, most people don’t know the difference between apple cider and apple juice, but I do. Now here’s a little trick to help you remember. If it’s clear and yella’, you’ve got juice there, fella. If it’s tangy and brown, you’re in cider town. Now, there’s two exceptions and it gets kinda tricky here…

How big is your canner lol

I have a hand core and peeler. I end up throwing a lot of apples out due to worms. How do you separate out the bad or partially bad apples to not contaminate your actual canning product when doing a large batch like this?

Nice job. I am glad this is getting popular.
I have had a large old press for 50 years, and in my younger days we would press 100 to 150 gallons every fall. Freeze it and make cider jelly. I am not sure why but cider doesnt turn as fast as it used to. i am surprised I have any teeth left when I was younger I would drink one half a gallon every day
