An Italian restaurant and pizzeria has suddenly closed after nearly 50 years of business.
Valentino’s, in an online post Tuesday evening, announced its closure at 15492 Kutztown Road in Maxatawny Township, Berks County.
“[The restaurant] has been a place of shared milestones, traditions, first dates, and late-night laughs,” the announcement said. “Since 1978, we have had the absolute honor of feeding your families, celebrating your triumphs, and being a part of this beautiful community.”
The announcement added, “As we look toward the future and new adventures, we take with us a lifetime of unforgettable memories. Thank you for letting us serve you.”
Valentino’s, which couldn’t immediately be reached by phone Wednesday morning, also thanked its staff and customers, particularly the customers “for standing by us during this recent road construction — your loyalty and dedication meant everything to us.”
The restaurant posted in May about how construction closed their Long Lane entrance. Earlier this month, it announced that entrance had reopened.
