An Ohio-based ice cream chain says it is expanding to Jacksonville, where it plans to open in Five Points.
In an Aug. 31 email, a public relations company representing Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams said the chain was working to open at 1020 Park St., one of several storefronts in the Five Points Theater Building now anchored by the FIVE entertainment venue.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, based in Columbus, Ohio, lists 32 locations, including Orlando, Tampa and Sarasota. Others are in Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The email did not list an estimated opening date.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams serves 33 flavors of ice creams and sorbets. According to a recent story in Inc., the business did $150 million in sales during 2025 with 95 retail shops in 30 markets.
The city is reviewing a permit application for an estimated $400,000 build-out for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in 1,238 square feet of space in Suite 218. Associated Consulting International LLC of Winter Park is listed as the contractor.
News of Jeni’s expansion to Jacksonville comes on the heels of Ben & Jerry’s opening recently at 1027 Park St., across the street from FIVE.
It also comes days after an announcement that Dalmoros Fresh Italian was planning to expand to 1018 Park St., another storefront in the FIVE building. The fast-casual chain expects an opening in fall 2026.
