Yet another pull from the 400+ recipe card collection I bought from ebay. These are both attributed to a woman named Mary Lilly

Unfortunately, despite the list of ingredients, there's no instructions for the actual baking process. A baking expert could probably figure it out

What I find interesting about the 1/2 recipe variation is not everything is directly cut in 1/2. This must be what they mean by "baking is a science"

No idea if either of these recipes are useful to anyone, but now the cards are saved onto the internet and don't have the risk of being lost to time! Hooray 💫

    Fruit Cake

    2 ⅔ c Brown sugar – 2 c Butter

    9 large eggs – 4 cups flour

    ¼ c molasses }

    1 ½ tsp soda } mix + add last

    ½ c strong coffee or brandy

    1 c currant jelly

    2 # raisins – 2 # dates – 2 c currants

    1 # mix peel, ½ # candied cherries

    2 or 3 slices candied pineapple – cut up

    2 c nut meats – 2 T cinnamon – 1 T nutmeg, less if desired
