Wine lovers will have a new place to enjoy with the opening of a new local wine bar.
Located at 7 Court Street in Binghamton, Winederlust Wine Bar hosted its grand opening celebration today.
The bar was founded by Binghamton native Amanda O’Neil, who previously worked in marketing in Chicago.
During the COVID pandemic, O’Neil started studying wine, which led to several months of working at a winery in California.
Driven by her love for family and interest in entrepreneurship, she returned to Binghamton after the experience to start the wine bar.
After a couple years of building, designing, and constructing, that vision is now finally coming to fruition.
“To me, wine is the oldest product on the planet and it’s been the red thread through culture and history,” O’Neil said. “And I think there’s something for everyone. I think there’s been a lot of pretension around wine, and that’s unnecessary. So our goal is to create a welcoming space for everyone, from novice to expert, to just come and explore and try something they’ve never tried.”
The bar offers over 35 different wines that are rotated seasonally and also offers food from around the world.
It is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, with Fridays and Saturdays extended until 11 p.m.
