The anticipation is finally over, Pembroke Pines.

CAVA, the popular build-your-own Mediterranean restaurant chain, is opening its first location in the city on Wednesday, Sept. 9, bringing its bowls, pitas and savory dips to Pembroke Lakes Square.

The eatery, located at 11049 Pines Blvd., will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The fast-casual chain has developed a substantial following, operating more than 450 restaurants in 29 states.

But before the doors officially open, CAVA is inviting the city’s locals to the table.

As part of the company’s Community Day program, the restaurant will offer guests a free meal while collecting donations to support a local organization. CAVA plans to match donations up to $1,000.

The Pembroke Pines location’s Community Day events will benefit the Center for Family and Child Enrichment Inc., which is a private nonprofit which works to support children and families in South Florida who have been abused, neglected or abandoned.

There will be Community Day events on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Since the program began in 2019, CAVA said Community Day has “raised more than $1 million in monetary and food donations for organizations working to combat food insecurity across the country,” according to CAVA communications manager Emma Vogt.

Vogt also said the new locale is expected to bring between 25 and 40 jobs to Pembroke Pines.
