Wellspring is having its 14th annual Wine to Water celebration to thank the community for supporting their charitable efforts on behalf of World Vision’s safe water fund.

The group will share free appetizers and wine from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 at Bella Caffé, with guest speaker Lyndsey Deane Ratchford, co-star of the award-winning documentary “The Long Walk for Water.”

“Lyndsey speaks from the heart when she explains how giving water really gives life,” said Katy Freitag, president of Wellspring. “The mission of Wellspring is to provide safe drinking water for the people of the world. The Park Rapids community has been extraordinarily generous, and this is a way we say thank you.”

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, World Vision is a leading nongovernmental provider of clean water reaching one new person every 10 seconds, a release states.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
