The cork turned all shiny and plastic, not like anything I’ve seen a cork turn into.
Champagne itself had no bubbles left and tasted like a rusty, white port. Not great and not advisable, but a fun experiment!

We bought it as a gag for €5,- at a market.
The company mentioned on the bottle changed names in 1973, so we assumed it was a present for their anniversary in 1971, since there is no dating on the bottle.
Taste wise it was not great.
Very oxidized, as expected. Like a rusty port made from white wine. Hints of forgone glory and a very rusty taste.
