O’Charley’s restaurants across the nation may be in peril, according to reports Wednesday.
The Tennessean said information has been circulating online this week saying the 55-year-old chain will shutter its remaining locations. The company has not officially confirmed the news to media outlets.
As of 8 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, the O’Charley’s Facebook and Instagram pages were deactivated and its website was taken down. An internet search for local locations shows the words “permanently closed” in the listings.
Locally, there is an O’Charley’s in Middletown and an Underground Chuck’s in Miami Twp. near the Dayton Mall. Underground Chuck’s is a spinoff concept from the operators of O’Charley’s that features wings, handcrafted Angus burgers, craft beers and signature cocktails.
As of Wednesday night, no one from the locations confirmed closures to media.

O’Charley’s closed more than 50 restaurants nationwide in 2023, including locations on Miller Lane in Dayton, Miamisburg Centerville Road in Miami Twp. and North Bechtle Avenue in Springfield.
“It is always a difficult decision to close a store but based on a variety of industry challenges and the macro-economic environment over the last few years, we closed these O’Charley’s locations,” O’Charley’s CEO W. Craig Barber said in a statement in August 2023.
